Facebook University, Analytics, Intern
Facebook University for Data Analytics (FBU Analytics) is a paid, eight week summer internship program that consists of training and hands-on project experience guided by a Facebook mentor. The program is designed to provide early career exposure to students who are historically underrepresented in this field.
FBU Analytics interns will work on data-intensive analysis for a particular product or business at Facebook. The Analytics team is looking for fast-moving candidates who want to make an impact and are interested in Data Engineering or Data Science. Together with your team members, you will translate analysis into meaningful impact for the company.
Program Details and Benefits:
- Participate in an Analytics development training course
- Work on a team with coaching from an intern manager to complete and present a final project
- Apply current programming knowledge (in SQL, R, Python, or other programming language) and learn new technologies
Minimum Requirements
- Currently enrolled as a 2nd year student in a 4-year BA/BS program (or equivalent program for special cases) in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Engineering, or related technical field, at a university within the United States
- Some exposure (academic, work, or personal) to a programming language (Python, SQL, Java, and/or C++)
- Some development experience in at least one scripting language (PHP, Perl, Python, etc.)
- A solid grasp of basic arithmetic and simple algebra
- Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
- Must be present for entirety of internship, June 2021 - August 2021
- Available to work in the United States for the duration of the internship
- Applicants must submit their resume, college transcripts (official or unofficial will suffice), and responses to a writing exercise

- Demonstrated interest in data and technology
- A passion for problem-solving, and comfort with ambiguity and creativity
- Demonstrated community leadership experience (academic, work, or personal)
- Prior experience from internships, work, or projects in a related field
- Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship
- Demonstrated passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion
- A passion for Facebook's mission to give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together
